For those serious (fellow) anoraks out there, here's what a "Pan" will really cost you to keep it on the road.

I bought mine in July 2001 with just 2,500 on the clock, but I do 130+ miles per day, commuting to/from work, hence the all-too-often services.

The only non-service item that has needed replacing in the first two years of the bike's life is the headlight, which suffered a fatal hole from a stone - I subsequently invested a worthwhile £17.50 in a plastic lens cover - and piston seals and a pin on the rear brake callipers at 32,000m.

Otherwise, it's got 36,000m worth of regular service items, via pukka Honda dealers.

...but now that the 2 year / unlimited mileage Honda warranty has run out, I may just start using cheaper dealers...
